Description
I have designed the gearbox to be operated with a NEMA 17 motor on a ball screw.
Data sheet:
| Number of gears | 1 |
| Number of teeth z | 30 |
| Gear ratio I | 30:1 |
| Pitch angle α | 4.05° |
As the lead angle is less than 5°, the gearbox is self-locking.
Self-locking it can only be driven via the worm, not via the worm wheel!!!
Printed from “normal” PLA, it can transmit a torque of around 3 Nm. More is certainly possible with a stronger plastic.
The following parts are required which cannot be printed:
| Ball bearing | 6003 ZZ (17 x 35 x 10mm) | 2x |
| Ball bearing | 608 ZZ (8 x 22 x 7mm) | 2x |
| Cylinder head screw | DIN 4762 (DIN 912) M6 x 12 | 6x |
| threaded insert (fusion nut) | M3 | 6x |
No support structure is required to print the gearbox.
Have fun printing my worm gear 😊
