Description
I like Herroc8's Jet Engine Clock, but I don't have any clock movements with the proper shaft length. Their design requires a 22mm shaft, while most of the ones I have are 11mm (~5.5mm thread length). For reference, these are cheap “high torque” movements available on Temu and elsewhere. Temu does have movements with the longer shafts, but I happened to buy the short ones. In any case, the long shaft movement should also work with this remix.
I modified the fan to accept the short shaft movement, and while I was at it, I mirrored the fan and spinner cone as suggested by the original designer of the jet engine model (CATIAV5FTW) so that the fan blades point the right way as compared to the rotation of the second hand spinner. I chose to remix this version rather than Herroc8's newer one because I like the look of the spinner cone on this one better. I also did not want an AMS required to print it.
The mirrored fan blades required remixed versions of the numerals, which are on a separate plate so you can print them a different color if you want.
The housing print profile includes the original single color change, which you can do manually if you don't have an AMS. I've also included an AMS version of the spinner cone as well as a mirrored version of the original two-piece glue-together version. These are on separate plates so you can choose which you want to print.
You will need to trim the clock hands to fit the housing, but this is simple to do with scissors
