NOTE: Due to how the mesh is implemented, you will NOT see the mesh until you slice/preview in Bambu Studio.
This remix ONLY changes the mesh on both the box and the lid.
The issues this remix is trying to solve are:
- In the v1 version of the original model, the mesh of the box is too hard to print due to how small the circle holes are. If using textured plate, some lines of the mesh on the first layer would fail to stick on the plate. Also it's time consuming to print small circle holes because printer literally needs to print the wall of each hole separately and fill up the spacing between adjacent holes and the overhead between so many holes add up to a lot of time wasted.
- In the v2 version of the original model, the mesh changed to vertical grill. It is way easier to print, but in my opinion and experience, the spacing of the grill is too big. The grill can be easily bended during being handled and causing desiccant to escape.
The solution this remix provides:
- The mesh is remixed to triangle holes. (The photo of the first layer may help explain following) Any 2 holes share a single extrusion as the wall, and all the walls are printed in a continious extrusion. This means:
- It's easier to print because continious extrusion is relatively less likely to fail to stick to the plate.
- it's faster to print because no overhead between printing each hole.
- The same mesh is also added to lid, only for potential better airflow. (Since the lid of the original design doesn't have issues, you are free to choose the orignal lid design)
