The blocks and numbers on the cards are indented to be readable even if not using an AMS. I have uploaded a “NO AMS” profile to make it easy for you.

Introduction

The goal of Puzzle Temple is to open gates and collect the jewels hidden behind them. To open a gate, you must arrange “puzzle blocks” to fully cover the “lock.” The quicker you unlock a gate, the more time you have to gather the jewels you want before other players can enter. After 9 rounds, players count their jewels, and the player with the most jewels of a single color wins.

Prerequisites

You’ll need a regular six-sided die and a 1-minute hourglass (or use your phone’s timer function).

Rules

Set-up

  • Randomly place the 78 jewels (13x6 different colors) in the slots on the board.
  • Give each player a set of puzzle blocks.
  • Shuffle the lock cards and remove 18 cards for a two-player game. For three players, remove 9 cards. For four players, keep all the cards. Stack them in a pile within everyone’s reach, face down.
  • Each player selects a game piece and places it on the starting hexagon at the bottom of the board.

The cards

Each card features six different sets of blocks specified next to each number. The number shown on the die determines which blocks are to be used when trying to unlock the gate.

The gate lock

The gate lock is carved into the card. To unlock the gate, all blocks must be placed within the carved-out area.

The game

  • The youngest player begins, and turns proceed clockwise. On their turn, each player draws a card from the pile and places it face down in front of them.
  • The player who drew the first card rolls the die and starts the timer. All players then simultaneously try to unlock their gates by arranging the specific puzzle blocks shown next to the rolled number on their own card.
  • Once a player unlocks the gate on their card using the correct blocks, they can immediately start moving their game piece and collect jewels. They must complete their moves and collect jewels before the time runs out.
  • If no player manages to unlock their gate before the time runs out, restart the timer for another minute. If no one unlocks their gate after this second attempt, everyone sets their card aside, and a new round begins.
  • If one or more players unlock their gates during a round while others do not, only the players who successfully unlocked their gates are allowed to move and collect jewels.
  • When the time runs out, the round ends (unless all players have failed to unlock their gates, in which case another minute is started). The cards are then set aside.
  • As soon as the time runs out, the round ends. This means that if anyone has unlocked their gate but has not yet moved or collected jewels, they are not allowed to do so. Instead, a new round begins just like before, and the game pieces remain in the positions they were when the round ended.

Moving and collecting jewels

  • The game board consists of 6 hexagons representing the six levels of the temple, along with 78 holes containing jewels. Players move their game pieces up and down the board, aiming to collect as many jewels as possible of the same color.
  • In a four-player game, the first player to unlock their gate can move up to three steps in any direction. The second player who unlocks their gate can move up to two steps, the third player can move up to one step, and the fourth player cannot move at all (but can still collect jewels from their current level).

In a three-player game, the first player to unlock their gate moves up to three steps, the second player moves up to two steps, and the third player moves up to one step.

In a two-player game, the first player to unlock their gate can move up to three steps, while the other player can move up to one step.

    4 players3, 2, 1, 0 steps
    3 players3, 2, 1 steps
    2 players3, 1 steps

Remember that “up to” the specified number of steps means players can choose to move fewer steps (or not at all) to reach the level with the best jewels.

Note! As soon as a player unlocks their gate, they must shout “DONE!”

  • The player who unlocks their gate first moves their game piece and collects the two leftmost jewels on the level they moved to. Players always collect the two outermost jewels closest to the hexagon. It's crucial to determine which level has the best jewels for you and to make quick decisions, as time is ticking and other players may unlock their gates and start searching for the most attractive jewels.
  • As soon as a player unlocks their gate, they can start moving their game piece and begin collecting jewels. This means that the player who unlocks their gate first is not necessarily the first to move their game piece.
  • If you move your game piece to a level where another player is already standing, you can collect the leftmost jewels if that player hasn’t had time to do so. If the other player has already collected one or two jewels, you may collect the current leftmost jewels. Note that the player who first collects a jewel on a level automatically gets the next jewel in line.
  • The jewels you collect are placed in front of you, allowing everyone to see what jewels you have.

Winner

The game ends when all cards have been used, which occurs after 9 rounds. The player who has collected the most jewels of a single color is declared the winner.

Example:

Player A7 green, 5 red, 3 blue, 2 yellow, 0 orange and 1 white
Player B4 green, 1 red, 0 blue, 1 yellow, 2 orange and 3 white
Player C2 green, 3 red, 2 blue, 8 yellow, 0 orange and 0 white

In this example, the winner is Player C, as they have the highest number of jewels of the same color (8 yellow). Even though Player A has a total of 18 jewels, they only have 7 of the same color.

In the event of a tie, where two or more players have the same highest number of jewels of one color, the winner is determined by who has the next highest number of jewels of the same color.

Boost MeI really appreciate any spare boosts you have. I'm doing my best with the models I'm creating but it usually takes a bunch of tries before I get it to where I feel I can share it and I end up using a bunch of filament ^^
