X-Axis Drag Chain & AMS lite HUB SAVER Platform

The AMS Hub on the A1 is unsupported and weak and the part under it, if breaks is hard to replace.

I wanted to design a strong platform to hold the hub and the cable chain base.  The cable chain parts are optional to print f you don't need them.

 

It is designed so the hub can move up and down as it should without friction but is still being supported.

I also wanted the platform to be aestheticly pleasing and to match Bambu's design as much as possible.

I added clamps for the side to make it super strong even though it stays in place without it.

I designed a cap on top that takes load from the lite HUB but also acts as a dust cover but can be lifted to reach the hub.

The height of the chimney is as tall as tall as when you push down on the hub you can still reach the top and deattach a tube.

 

Printed with Bambu Lab - PLA Basic - Light Grey for a perfect color match. :)

The chain part is best with PETG but it works perfectly with PLA too. (I used both.)

Assembly STEPS:

1. Remove PTFe Tubes.
2. Add main platform on top of the extruder.
3. Add the extra key part to close in the cable.
4. Add clamps to the side to secure platform. Hook it in and from the top fold down.
5. Add Cap Lace the PTFE tubes into the holes of the cap than attach the tubes to the HUB. Then place the cap on the chimney.)
6. Add cable chain platform to the other side. 2 or 4 m3 screw needed which you can find in bambu kits. more detail on my z-axis dragchain page.
7. Add links facing alternating in a way so the chain can only bend inward.
