Description
A few days ago,
I redesigned the tank models in the classic video game - Battle City (1985).
https://makerworld.com/en/models/723245#profileId-654249
Many people have downloaded those cute little tanks.
It seems that it is time to let those tanks return to the battlefield.
So I designed these:
Basic Terrain
Water Terrain
Forest Terrain
Ice Terrain
Steel Block
Bricks
Oil Barrel Dice (Monochrome version)
Oil Barrel Dice (Multicolor version)
Bringing you:
A board game version of “Battle City”
I think that these props can be combined into infinite ways of playing,
but I have only conceived one of them.
Tentatively call it:
Table Tank: Battlefield
Basic gameplay:
2 players (I think 3 or 4 players are also possible) start from their bases and enter the battlefield, shooting and destroy each other, and the remaining player wins the battlefield.
The player rolls the oil barrel dice to determine the number of steps to move. The value on the top of the dice is the amount of oil you need to move this time, and each grid of oil can move one grid of terrain.
You can move back and forth, but you must move the corresponding number of grids, and you cannot stay in place.
You cannot move to the water surface, bricks, steel blocks, or other tanks.
After the move is completed, you can shoot, and you can only shoot in a straight line in the direction of your own tank, and you cannot shoot diagonally.
If you do not hit other tanks, you can choose the direction of your own tank, and enter a defensive posture.
If you hit other tanks, your own tank can be upgraded, but you cannot change the position and direction of the tank, and directly enter a defensive posture.
Tanks in defensive posture have passive priority to fire, that is, you can pass, but you cannot stay within the range of other players' tanks, otherwise you will be destroyed. Passive firing tanks can also be upgraded.
A player tank that has been hit can be revived 3 times, but each resurrection will restore it to a level 1 tank.
Game maps can be set according to your preferences. Due to the range of tanks, the recommended minimum map size is 4x4.
NPC tanks can be placed on basic terrain, forest terrain or ice terrain.
NPC tanks cannot move or turn, but NPC tanks also have passive priority to fire. You cannot stay within the range of NPC tanks, otherwise you will be destroyed by NPC tanks.
NPC tanks cannot be upgraded, but players can get upgrades by destroying NPC tanks.
Range and firepower of tanks of different levels:
Level 1 tank has a range of 1 grid, and can destroy 1 brick in one shot
Level 2 tank has a range of 2 grids, and can destroy 1 brick in one shot
Level 3 tank has a range of 3 grids, and can destroy 2 bricks in one shot
Level 4 tank has a range of 4 grids, and can destroy 2 bricks or 1 steel blocks in one shot
Terrain Description:
Ice terrain: movement +1
Forest terrain: range -1
Water terrain: block movement / cannot cross
Bricks: can be destroyed by tanks of all levels
Steel blocks: can be destroyed by tanks of level 4
Upgrading and adding NPCs add new fun to this board game. After many trials, I found that the biggest advantage of this gameplay is the moving and rotating rules. Even if you upgrade to the highest level tank, other players still have the opportunity to kill you by calculating the route.
Everyone is welcome to try, and help me improve the gameplay.
I hope that one day this board game can be as popular as the video game version.
