Funny Santa Claus Wine Bottle Plug

The other evening, my wufe an I had a glass of fine wine. We accidentally left the bottle open. It didn’t take long, a tiny Santa Claus sneaked towards it, climbed up and tried to get to he precious fluid. Unfortunately, he was a bit too mighty to fit thru the bottle’s neck and got stuck. As everybody knows, spotting Santa in person is a rather scarce event and this situation certainly was one of a kind. The (un)lucky incident inspired me to design this object and give it a practical use.

The model consists of three parts: The upper Santa, the plug/cork and the inner pin holding the parts together. I printed the cork in TPU with six walls to give it the needed elasticity and strength. The pin was printed in PETG with 7 walls (or 100% infill) to make it strong, the main Santa was printed in PETG using the AMS. This part could as well be printed in PLA and if you don’t have an AMS, you could of course also colorize the body with acrylic paint. I only had black TPU, otherwise I would've printed the plug in red.

Assembly is easy: Just put the pin thru the cork, apply some CA glue to the upper part oft he pin and slide it into the Santa part.
