5th String Capo for Banjo

This is similar to the pen cap method, only I was able to make it smaller and less obtrusive and adjust the height to have minimal impact on the action. This type of capo will always increase the action to some extent.

There are three versions

  • Standard: Wedges under the string on the fret only, holds the string at 3.2mm from the fretboard.
  • Large: More stable with more surface area and higher actions (4mm)
  • Low Action Clip On: Wedges under the string and has a clip to hold the string tighter. Holds the string at 2.5mm from the fretboard and clips on the string so it cannot fall off during rigorous playing. It is a bit harder to print.

Printing

Print with one of the top sides down, see images for proper orientation. I also recommend using the smallest layer height you can. I used 0.12mm for the standard and .08mm for the low action.
