Description
When making espresso, every little step can influence the final flavor. From measuring the beans to leveling the grounds and tamping them down, each task plays a part in achieving that perfect shot. But juggling multiple tools for these steps can sometimes feel a bit cumbersome.
This is where the idea for the 3-in-1 coffee tool comes in—a practical design that combines three essential tasks into one compact tool.
1. Tamper
The tool is built around a 51mm tamper, sized for many popular espresso machines. But what makes it flexible are the two included converters: one for 54mm portafilters and another for 58mm. Switching between sizes is seamless, making it ideal for anyone who enjoys experimenting with different setups or has more than one espresso machine.
2. Scoop
Inside the scoop, you’ll find simple markings for 9 grams and 18 grams—perfect for single and double shots of espresso. These marks take the guesswork out of portioning your coffee beans, especially if you don’t always want to pull out a scale. It’s a small touch but one that can make your routine a little easier.
3. Distributor
The distributor does more than level your coffee grounds—it includes small holes where you can insert toothpicks to create grooves in the coffee bed. This can help with even water flow during brewing, a subtle trick for minimizing channeling and enhancing flavor consistency.
Also thanks to my friend Cem Yilmaz for making this design perfect :)
