Multi-layer Light Box w/ interchangeable scenes

UPDATE 1/1/2026: Happy New Year!  I have added an Assembly Guide to show how to attach the LED mounting bracket and LED strips.  Also added actual print profiles for each scene available.  Finally, added the Bambu Labs LED strip that I recommend.  It would be great if you ordered it from my model page to help support my efforts to continue bringing models to MakerWorld!

This Light Box is inspired by various ones found scattered around Thingiverse.  It is a shadow box that can have an LED strip installed inside, and display multi-layer 3D scenes that are fully interchangeable.  Since this is ground-up rebuild, it's not considered a remix.

 

This project contains multiple collections all in one place.  Some were found in various places in Thingiverse, others are originals built from what we found.  The main project is the core box, and its core insert with LED strip bracket (needs to be glued to the main insert) and plate holder.  Then multiple additional project files are included to have a particular scene, and includes various layers on different plates (labeled) which can allow the builder to experiment with different light diffusion.  Depending on the printer, nozzle, filament choice, and installed LED strips, different layer counts at each panel number can really enhance the scene.

 

Please look under the Additional STL/CAD files section for all the different scenes available.  These can be downloaded as full Bambu Studio project files.  I will be working on building those in as different print profiles to make things a bit more obvious.
