🛹 Futuristic Skateboard – Dummy 13 Scale (Tron-Inspired)
This is my take on a futuristic, cyber-style skateboard designed specifically for Dummy 13, inspired by the iconic glow patterns and light aesthetics seen in Tron.
The design features clean geometry, glowing accents, and circuit-style details throughout. This model was fully designed in Fusion 360 and went through multiple iterations and test prints to achieve the final look, fit, and functionality.
📐 Features
- Futuristic Tron-inspired design with glow accents
- Multi-part build with clean, modular assembly
- Fully functional spinning wheels
- Snap-fit glow components with optional adhesive
- Designed specifically for Dummy 13 scale
🛠️ Assembly Notes
- Assembly is straightforward and requires minimal super glue
- Gel super glue is recommended over liquid
- Easier to control
- Helps fill small filament texture gaps
Wheels & Motion
- Wheels spin freely once assembled
- Avoid getting glue on the outer bolt shaft where the wheel rotates
Glow Components
- Top glow-in-the-dark circuit plate snaps into place
- Underside glow edge pieces snap in easily
- Glue is optional, but recommended for the top plate
- Front and rear outward-facing light pieces require glue
- Example color scheme used: glow (front) and red (rear)
⚠️ Important Notes
- The skateboard deck and wheel hubs require minimal supports
- Supports are intentionally small and easy to remove
- Only small tree supports appear inside the hubs and around the top plate recess
- Wheel hubs include a brim for print reliability
- Brim removes cleanly
- Any remaining edge is hidden once wheels are installed
Tire Orientation (Important)
- Tires are not symmetrical
- Front tires feature a slightly raised edge
- Rear tires are flush
- Correct orientation is important during gluing and installation
Dummy 13 Foot Bindings
- Bindings are very small, detailed parts
- These are the only components requiring a different layer height
- Included print profile already accounts for:
- Layer height
- Speed
- Supports
- Brims
🔧 Installation Steps
- Remove all supports
- Glue the top circuit-style plate to the deck
- Glue the underside glow edge pieces into their slots (symmetric)
- Install front and rear lights
- Beveled edges ensure they only fit one direction
- Glue tires to rims in the correct orientation
- Glue hub assemblies into the underside of the board
- Critical:
- When installing bolts, apply a small drop of glue only to the top of the bolt
- This prevents glue from reaching the rim and ensures free wheel rotation
This skateboard adds a bold, futuristic look to any Dummy 13 setup and pairs perfectly with modern or cyber-themed displays.
