Description

This model shows how law of the lever works. Move bar position on the pivot and weight boxes to keep balance. All designed mounting points on bar allow to mount it on pivot and using weight boxes on designed points to keep balance of bar. All distances beetwen mounting points of bar and mounting points of weight mesure 30mm and are in the same location. Bar weight 40g and weight boxes 5g each, so values are selected to allow perfect balance of bar.

 

Assembly is simple, it only requaire mounting pivot in middle one mounting point, it have low tolerance so it is posible that you will must push it with smal force to fit it in, you can aply glue to attach pivot but it is not required. After assembly put bar on the pivot using designed mounting points and place weight boxes in 10 spots for them. To use model after bar is on pivot place some weight boxes on placing spots on the bar, place them in that way to ensure balance and prove law of the lever. Do not attach bar and weight boxes to stand or pivot using glue because these are elements that should be moving or be attached and detached.

In documentation is file with sticker to print with normal printer, so print it and attach it using glue or double sided tape to attach it to stand on the model, it shows basic formulas for law of the lever and parameters of model to count values. 

 

Also for experiment you can use something else as weight elements (metal plates, bolts, suts, ect.), but it can be more chelenging to keep balance. In basic print profile there is 10 weight boxes but you can print more of them, to place them on the stand stack extra boxes on top of basic ones. To use points for mounting weight on the both ends of bar use double sided tape to attach first weight box, without tape boxes can fall (as to keep ability to perfect balance i was unable to made them longer and easier to stack weight without tape).

 

For printing bar and weight boxes is recomended to use 100% infil to ensure perfect weight distribution and balance of the model, for stand and pivot infil do not have that much meaning. Even small diference in weight of bar and weight boxes can impact on posibility to keep perfect balance. Best to print with PLA.

 

I also made print profile for A1 mini, but all elements are scaled down a litle bit according to lover bed dimentions.
