Description
The Hula build plate holders make it a bit hard to get your plates out of it, so i designed a plate grabber for it.
Of course alternating the orientation of the plates makes it easier, but i don't like the look of that.
The magnetic version of the grabber can be mounted to the printer's front glass somewhat stealthy if you print in black.
The door can be fully opened with the attached plate grabber.
The plate grabber comes in three versions:
- embedded magnets -> clean look
- open magnets -> if you don't trust embedding Magnets
- without Magnets
I provided profiles for the following magnet sizes:
- 6x1mm
- 6x2mm
- 8x1mm
- 8x2mm
- 10x1mm
- 10x2mm
Using only one magnet is most likely sufficient but i would recommend to use two for the smaller diameters and 1mm thickness magnets.
The Fusion CAD file is also available for custom magnet sizes.
If you don't have Fusion and not the right magnet diameter available, you can use a hole with wider diameter and use super glue.
The holes for the magnets are designed to be press-fit.
If you need to make adjustments, you can use parameter changes in the Fusion CAD file.
If you print the verion with embedded magnets make sure to add a pause at the layer where the bridging accross the holes occurs.
Make sure the magnets fit tighty in the hole so they can't be dragged out by magnetism or use a drop of super glue.
Also make sure the top surface of the magnets sits level or below the surface of the print to avoid nozzle collision.
