Description
Keep an eye out for @JadeJoliex who will be weilding Excalibur as she celebrates 20 years of Tomb Raider This is the Excalibur sword from the Tomb Raider series, made to celebrate the 20th anniversay of Tomb Raider (Yes, 20!). The model has been split into multiple parts and oriented on the bed to print easily without support. It uses 36 dowels to help align and hold the parts together, these can either be printed or you can use some 8mm diameter metal rod which can be purchased from most DIY stores and then cut down into 40mm long dowels (For example - http://www.diy.com/search/results/?question=8mm+rod). If you’re printing all of the dowels, I would advise using a high amount of Fill for extra strength (80%+), but for the best combination of strength and speed I would suggest using atleast one metal dowel at each of the lower joints (handle area), and then the rest 3D printed.
