Description
Build symmetrical pyramids using these seven pieces. Given that they are composed of spheres joined together, this task is difficult. WARNING: This puzzle will severely test your 3D visualization of spheres.
Print one copy of the piece: I2, four of L3 and two of L4. Note that each piece has been cut in half, so you must print double the number of halves. Be sure to print two L4 plus two mirror image L4 as they are different. The pieces have holes to insert a short length of filament for alignment. After checking the fit, glue the halves together. Print one copy of each base plate.
See the goal document for a list of 14 shapes to build. The L pieces all contain 90 degree angles, but most of the target shapes do not have a 90 degree angle in a horizontal layer. This means that no L piece can be placed horizontally, which makes the puzzle very difficult. The top row in the goal document is easier but can still be challenging. I have included the solution document in case you are stumped. Even building the larger target shapes using the solution document is not a simple matter.
The puzzle is sized so that everything fits in a 4"x4"x1" box. The sphere size is 19 mm or ¾".
