Description
This is an implementation of the Man Ray chess set. It dates from a time when I was a little bit struggling with my first functional language, OpenSCAD, and before discovering the wonderful BOSL2 library.
There is a discussion in a provided document, in the files section, about the choices that I made for some more difficult pieces.
The scale of the STL files fits for a board having the elementary square of 50mm side and follows the proportion rules described on chess.com.
I printed the set on a Prusa i3MKS+ using PLA, cray and black colored filament, at 100% fill.
As an additional feature I used black and white felt glued on the underside of the pieces to protect my board from scratches.
When I'll have the time I'll provide a modular board and a box to nicely store all of the elements, pieces and boards.
Note: I provide the OpenSCAD source of the model, with the exception of the boxes and cover, in the files section.
