Description
These tiles are corrections of the set called “Heroscape hexes better fit” by aschlauch, as found on Thingiverse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5252122
The original license was CC BY, and I am of course respecting that.
The meshes of all of those original models are invalid; editing software mostly chokes on them, and Cura sliced them strangely. I tried several programs, and the only one that could properly fix them was Microsoft 3D Builder (yes, I was surprised by this). The files here are the corrected models.
I've found that the interconnections aren't tight enough when printed with my 0.6mm nozzle; I haven't tried it with an 0.4mm nozzle as I really want the faster printing. I'll probably upload a revised set after I work out the fit issues.
If you know Heroscape, you should know that the “ice” tiles are suitable for either type of water as well as lava, the only difference being the color. The “natural” tiles are appropriate for any of the normal terrain types, and the “road” tiles are of course suitable for roads. The connectors for towers (as a replacement for the Castle set) are not included, and I doubt I'll try as I think they'd be easily broken.
The photo shows single hex pieces I printed. The light brown and blue one was printed from the original STL and has weird holes underneath that don't badly affect usability; the green one was printed from the new files presented here. The one on the bottom is an original Heroscape tile, shown to indicate compatibility.
The blue is Prusa Royal Blue PLA, the green is Prusa Opal Green PLA, and the light brown is some cheap brand of bamboo-infused PLA from Amazon.com. I used tree supports touching buildplate for the blue and brown one, and had to add a raft to get the green one to stick to my PEI bed. Your mileage may vary.
