SR-71 & F-35: Dual-Colour Toy SR 71 and F 35 Jet (Blackbird SR-71 = SR71)

- Toy style two-piece dual color version of Lockheed Martin's Blackbird SR-71 and F-35.

- Easy to resize, easy to print (no supports) and to be used as giveaway, toy, or design object - ideal with the small optional stand for a table. 

- Optimized for printing and easy assembly. The interlock feature is designed at an angle of roughly 45 degrees and designed to hold by itself by rather small gaps.

Tips

- Designed as toy and easily scaled - try 120 % for a larger model, 80 % for a smaller model or 50% for a micro scale SR-71 (which all still print and interlock well).

- Use your slicer to cut a 6 mm hole at the back end of the SR-71 parts and make a keychain out of it. Use a resize factor of 80 % and a 3D printed key ring of my key ring collection to make it a really nice accessory. There ist a keychain project file included here in the downloads.

- Black and white makes a beautiful contrast for a design object, but try black and grey to make the aircraft look more realistic. Try also to print the first layers of the base plate in black by adding print stops, if you like.

Print Settings

· model in photos printed with MK4 | Extrudr PLA NX2 | 0.4 mm nozzle.

· the small models (F-35 standard size 5 cm or downsized SR-71) require good first layers and overhang print precision. You may use a minimum model length of 8 cm for easier prints, or a bit of sandpaper after printing :)

· no supports. Check for reasonable print bed adhesion and first layer contact.

· choose a layer height less than the usual 0.2 mm for good resolution of the round surfaces
