Description

These are a pair of rear tyres modeled for the Breezebuggy rideon playcar (paid model) that fit standard 6,5" hoverboard motors. The tyres might come in handy for robot projects or similar that uses hoverboard motors and need some extra traction with added studs.

The studs are arranged in 4 lines around the tyre.

Clip of the tyres in action:

The tyres are prepared with positions for screw studs and there are 1mm diameter holes approximately 13,5mm deep where screws can go.

Cheaper studs seem to often be sold in quantities of 200, so for the play car these were distributed on the 4 tyres. I ended up distributing 68studs per rear tyre. For most circumstances this should be a good amount of studs if comparing to stud numbers found in bicycle tyres versus circumference.

Regular screws of suitable kinds with an approperiate length could be used as a simple and more accessible alternative to the studs. Will still make a big difference on ice.

The motor will not protrude outside the tyre, at least none of the motors I have seen.

I recommend printing in Recreus Filaflex 82A or similar hardness TPU for a very capable lighter load tyre. Its advantageous to use a 0,6mm nozzle over 0,4mm.

Parameters for a 0,6mm nozzle: 15% gyroid infill, 3-4walls, 0,2-0,25mm layer height

The gyroid infill is important to get a tyre that is similarly soft in all directions.

Print very slow, my settings are between 15 and 30mm/s, because the overhangs tend to curl up with these soft tpu's otherwise.
