Description
I love this game. Top to bottom, from production quality to gameplay mechanisms to art, Andromeda's Edge is simply incredible. The only thing standing between me and constant replays? The setup and teardown.
Edit: I was asked on discord if this insert cuts down on setup time. I clocked myself at (standard pace) 10 minutes from box to ready for a solo game, and 8 minutes from table back into the box.
Edit 11/11: module tray was missing, now added to general files and the 3mf. You will need x2 of these
This insert is not for the filament faint-of-heart. Even at 7% adaptive cubic infill it will take approx 2.5kg of filament and 2d of printing on a Bambu X1c at normal speed. That being said, just about everything is grab-and-drop onto the table. Trays shown were printed with 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 15% grid infill, and no supports are needed.
Player trays, map and tiles are on top. There's a separate holder for coasters, as well as for neoprene dice trays.
Two resource trays, two tactic card deck holders for sharing across large tables. Module deck holders with discard slots go directly onto the board.
Event cards are coupled with raider cards for easy access during setup. Factions and their upgrades are paired with objective cards and individual ship upgrades.
Unity (solo) components get their own home, complete with both left- and right-oriented action card holders with display slots for easy viewing while seated. All unity cards and tokens fit under the Unity Captain cards.
Buildings continue to be in their own tray with card slots, and the tray is sized to prevent buildings from falling out. They hold onto the pegs!
Raiders, of which you will only select a few each game, are carefully nested under two supportive roofs to ensure the large minis don't get a chance to wiggle out of their spots. Each Tier of raider gets its own area, and all are stored on a peg, ready to be plucked for the game and placed on a base.
This insert supports sleeved cards and vertical storage. Sleeves shown are from the deluxe pledge, but any sleeve of similar size and thickness (100u) should be fine. Unless you decide to completely turn the box upside down, everything will stay in place with negligible lid lift.
There are a number of places in this insert where a well-calibrated machine will bring a smile to your face. The sizing of the raider peg slots and the building tray pegs, in particular, are reliant on accurate calibration, so I strongly encourage you to run a diagnostic before tackling those files.
Please let me know what you think!
