Description
This is a mold for snowballs to make them look like Lego heads. It took 2 ½ hours to print on my A1. While I can't say it's the easiest print ever, even if it turns out funky, it's still functional with some post-processing. Use the model with more tolerance for most printers but if you feel like your printer has really good tolerance use the regular file
print settings/info
filament: 63ish grams when printed with 3 walls and 15% infill
supports: depends, if you want the best results I would place supports on the top parts of the head, most slicers will auto-place supports on the hinge but it's unneeded.
layer level: .2mm MANDATORY FOR THE HINDGE TO WORK (or .1mm would work too)
brim: no unless you like using them or have bad bed adhesion
speed: I printed mine using the base speeds for the a1 and it turned out alright I think I would tune it a bit slower, but I would definitely slow down for overhangs if you want the best results
Notes: the hinge was the best solution I could find but it might be hard for printers with lower tolerance, it's made to be stuck in place while printing and takes a bit of force to break loose but nothing crazy. if you have any better designs for the hinge I would love to see them.
This design CAN NOT BE SCALED, due to the hinge, if you want a different size message me, and i'll make it.
Have fun printing and ruin someone's day for me by throwing one down the back of their jacket!!
any feedback or ideas for other snowball presses would be welcome.
