Description
Just another fidget spinner but with a Barbie theme. This was somewhat copied from but definitely inspired by the 3D Printing Nerd (Joel Telling) in his recent video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgOuvOLiwAM.
In order to get the head logos large enough to hold pennies, the whole thing ends up being a little too big for small hands to play with, which is a shame. However, it came out so nice I decided to upload anyway. Maybe I'll revise sometime to hold dimes instead of pennies to see if I can reduce the size.
I included the original idea which was a more standard spinner with embossed head logos. The idea here was to print in two colors to make the logos really stand out. That version should more easily fit smaller hands.
Printer Brand:
Prusa
Printer:
Prusa Mk2
Supports:
No
Infill:
20%
Printed in clear PLA. It is not nearly as fragile as it looks.
Slightly modified caps
I modified the locking caps to only have a .5mm shoulder instead of 1.0mm and also added a .25mm rim. Both of these make the fit and finish look MUCH better as the air space between caps and bearing all but disapears. Finally, a fillet was added on the front side for comfort.
Fully assembled
This two color version is better for small hands
Per the video, add (5) pennies to each logo in order to weight the spinner. These went in much tighter than the bearing so a rubber mallet was definitely needed. After cleaning out the bearing grease with WD-40, it spins forever!
