Description
This barrel insert reduces the barrel diameter from 16mm to approx. 15mm to get more accuracy out of the Hush 2.
And this blaster can be really accurate!
The Hush2 has a 16mm barrel and I wanted to achieve approximately the same accuracy as the Satakieli (15mm barrel), I designed this thin barrel insert that can simply be pushed into the barrel.
And now my Hush2 has become even more accurate than the Satakieli!
This thin tube has only one wall thickness and just requires 3g of filament.
If its to wide or to small you can scale X and Y slightly.
The file is already pre-oriented.
My print settings:
0,2mm layer height (0,4mm Nozzle)
print it with outer brim
The files for the Hush2 can be purchased and downloaded from Leedle's shop on Printables
To be clear, there is no guarantee that an improvement in accuracy can always be achieved with the barrel insert.
There are quite a few factors that can affect the accuracy of stringers:
e.g. a rough bungee channel, a rough barrel, a trigger that is too loose and pushes the bungee up slightly offset, the type of bungee, the darts and especially the length of the dart retention (short start ramps have a bad precision) ….
A slightly tighter barrel can only compensate for these other factors a little, but not completely.Additional tip for all stringer blasters:
Be sure to sand all areas that are in contact with the dart and/or the bungee until they are somewhat smooth.
This will definitely bring additional FPS and often accuracy as well.
