Description
A purely plastic stand just wasn't good enough to support the part die-cast metal, part plastic of my Blade Runner 2049 Spinner model. So instead I've printed a mount that uses a metal rod between my 3D printed base and the 3D printed fixing which is adhered to the bottom of the model. Make sure you're ironing the top surface to give it a professional presentation. This would also be a great option for aeroplane and flying vehicle models that you want to present with some elevation. The 4mm diameter stainless steel Rod can be purchased for $1 from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006293171727.html
To mount the model to the stand, I cut up a 3M VHB adhesive pad: https://www.amazon.com.au/Double-Sided-Adhesive-Tape-Pads/dp/B086BQ2MQ1/
If you happen to want the Blade Runner Spinner pictured, that can be found cheapest on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/NECA-Cinemachines-Collectible-Die-Cast-Replica/dp/B0767R1DD9/
