Description

Traditional nutcrackers are so old-fashioned, now you can use the CR0NCH3R instead!

CR0NCH3R is a little dude that chews as aggressively as you can press down on its lever or antenna. Made of many parts, it is easy to print and satisfying to assemble! All test prints were done with PLA, and the spring should work with other common 3D printing materials (ABS, PETG, PPLA, etc.).

Print Details:

  • Use provided orientations
  • Supports recommended for overhangs on Face and Base
  • No supports recommended on all other pieces
  • Models in photos printed with a 0.1 mm layer height using a 0.4 mm nozzle. Larger heights will work but might obfuscate some smaller details.

Assembly Details (transparent photo and video provided):

  1. Start with base, put lower teeth into the second slot behind the face opening
  2. Place spring into rear slot
  3. Place the handle into the back slot, over the spring, with the vertical prongs facing down
  4. Put upper teeth into the same slot over the lower teeth with the slot for the handle facing up (see transparent view)
  5. Clip handle into upper teeth. Some gentle encouragement to get the prongs into the slot may be necessary. If this is too difficult, try clipping outside of the assembly a few times to ensure a good fit before putting it into the model.
  6. Put plunger up into face from bottom
  7. Slide face into base using first and last slots in the base
  8. Place ball on plunger
  9. Fit the legs into the base
  10. All set, chomp away!

Super glue or another adhesive is not required for model to work after assembly, but a little bit on the ball and legs can help keep the model together after assembly. Due to the limitations of 3D printing materials, it will probably not be able to crack any strong nuts but might dent a pistachio or split a peanut.

Enjoy!
