Hex Screw Fidget Toy

Description

This is a simple fidget toy with a sleek look and smooth operation. Depending on the quality of your print the operation may be a bit rough, however the abrasiveness of the filament will will smooth out the motion after a few uses.

Print Instructions

The settings I printed this worked fairly well. My recommended print settings are:

• 0.2mm layer height will result in a usable, but quick print.
• 3 perimeters minimum.
• Infill is recommended for the hex heads.
• 3 top layers is recommended however more will ensure a good looking finish.
• The ‘Runner’ should be printed with a brim. Because of the chamfer, there isn't much surface contact with the print bed. The brim will help with adhesion.

Assembly

Basic assembly can be determined from the exploded view in the photos. Put the runner on the screw before installing the cap. The cap will lock onto the bore of the screw, and the keyed connection will ensure it doesn't rotate. It's loose enough to pull apart with a small amount of force, but tight enough that it will stay in place without much movement.
