Description

I've been teaching myself TinkerCAD and decided, as my first project, to design a simple Fidget Spinner I call “Orbiter” for those with smaller hands and one that uses just a single 608 bearing. I got great spin-time from a cheap 608 bearing off of Amazon. I'm sure there are a lot better bearings that could increase spin time, but the cheap ones worked just fine for me. The bearing caps are a remix that I came up with.

I've included two spinner models. One is designed with a tighter bearing fit and might be difficult for some to get pressed in. The Second is designed for an easier fit (still needs to be pressed in but I've tried it a few times and it's pretty easy).

Note: The bearing is a tight fit. I use two pieces of wood to sandwich the spinner and bearing then press down until the bearing seats fully. It's not too difficult but does take a little effort.

Printing:

  • Supports: None
  • Infill: I recommend 100% to provide weight.
  • Layer Height: I use .16 but .2 should work just fine.
  • Material: PLA
