Description
Do you need to give someone a gift? Do you want them to struggle in agony to open it? This is the gift tube for you.
If you liked the Annoying Gift Tube and the Extra Annoying Gift Tube, this one will really make you smile. You still have to unscrew an annoyingly large amount of threads, but now you have to do it five times, and then solve a maze tube that only has one way out. The various layers are threaded differently with some being counterclockwise and some being clockwise. One layer actually switches direction half way through.
This is only for those gift givers who are really committed to annoying their gift recipients. The print will take around 13 hours, and consume over 400g of filament, but it's all worth it when you see your gift recipient roll their eyes and struggle to open it.
The final tube is about 89mm deep with a diameter of about 31mm. It's big enough for cash, a printed gift certificate, or something like that.
There are three outer tube options including a blank one so you can customize it in the slicer.
Here's a solution to the maze since it can be pretty tough especially once you get off track.
Assembly
Don't forget to add your gift before you get started.
You'll first need to solve the maze yourself to close up the final tube. After that, just start screwing them together. I'd recommend using the assembly tool if you have access to a drill or electric screwdriver. If you do use a drill, just make sure to tighten the last bit of each tube by hand. You'll likely break the assembly tool if you go too fast and over tighten.
Printing tips:
For all the tubes, 5% infill is plenty (I used gyroid) and the regular 2 walls will work great.
If you're printing the assembly tool, I'd go with 3 walls and 10% gyroid to add a little strength.
The longest bridge is 25mm. I'd recommend supports since they come out a little neater, but feel free to go without if you're feeling lucky.
Some people have seen some stringing in some of the inner threads. Changing walls to Arachne prints the walls in a better order and seems to solve this.
