Description
This is a model of Josephine, a steam engine in Dunedin, New Zealand that started in 1872 and now resides in Toitu Otago Settlers Museum. The model will fit on Duplo tracks (although leading & trailing wheels will need to be dummies to go around the curves).
[Update] Added a half engine ‘Rose’ for a quicker print and more playing. The Rose engine was a twin to Josephine but was wrecked in a crash and used as parts.
Print the main body with supports. I used ‘paint on’ supports for inside the cab, and under the front overhangs. Print bogies without supports. Print 2 of the cowcatchers facing up without supports. These gently fit onto the end of the bogies as clip-on, no screws required. Print 4 wheels and 4 dummy wheels, or if you're not using curved tracks print 8 wheels. These push on to the axles on the bogies. Engine sits on top of the bogies held in place by 4 M3 screws.
Printed: 0.2mm layer, 3 walls, 8% infill, PLA+
Note: the printed model in picture is missing the small plaque on the cab door.
Model designed in Fusion.
