Description

General:

This is a print-friendly action figure base with movable joints that can be posed into pretty much any position. The joints are designed to be stiff and keep their position. The figure has a height of about 24 cm.

The joints are friction fit with negative tolerances. So you click them into their sockets with a fair bit of deliberate violence, then move them around a bit to work them in. The plastic will do the rest.

There are two types of joints, depending on the mobility required in that section. Put the double-joints together first with the pin (hammer them in if need be, then click the pin in fully for that last half millimeter), before clicking them into their sockets.

Printing:

Everything should already be in its proper printing orientation.

I'd recommend printing with PETG, since that stuff is good at keeping its flex. (PLA will eventually noodle out, but could still be fine for a bit.) If the joints prove to be too stiff or loose with your printing tolerances, scale them a percent bigger or smaller. That should typically do the trick.

Layer height: 0.12mm. Finer is better. These are ball joints and sockets.

I've attached a STEP file of the project as well, in case you want to tinker with it. (Like modifying the limbs to be more detailed.)
