Intro

I hope that everyone liked my first 3D-printed 3D printer design!  If you have not seen it before, I recommend you check it out (search for 3D printed 3D printer).  This new Prusa MINI model also has a moving X, Y, and Z axis just like the other.  Leave a like for more of this type of content!

Additional Information

This model works best with PETG but PLA works well too.  Use snug supports on buildplate only for all models except the 3D printer printing a 3D printer add-on.  For this add-on use snug supports everywhere.  If you are planning on using the 3D printer printing a 3D printer add-on, I recommend printing it separately from the rest because the supports will get in the way of the rod holes.  Glue may be needed to keep rods in place.

Build Directions

Please print these parts

  • 1 frame
  • 1 Extruder
  • 6 Rods (2 of each length)
  • 1 Heatbed
  • 2 X–end clips (One large, one small)
  • 1 Z-top

Assemble X-axis

  1. Find the large X-end clip (the one with the cube on it) and slide two of the medium-long rods into the holes on the side
  2. Slide the extruder onto the two rods facing the cube on the X-end clip
  3. Fit the last X-end clip on the two rods

Assemble Z-axis

  1. Take the X-axis and align it with the holes on the frame facing the same direction as the screen
  2. Take the small rods and slide them down through the holes in the X-axis and into the frame
  3. Please put on the Z-top and align it with the hole in the frame and with the rods

Assemble Y-axis

  1. Find the heatbed and align it with the holes in the back
  2. Slide the long rods through the back holes in the frame
