Description
CUBE: 16 pieces, one single cube.
The goal is simple: assemble all the pieces to form the cube. This design is a modified version, with two extra pieces to make it more challenging and at a size of 50 x 50 x 50 mm, of a classic wooden puzzle.
Wooden puzzles generally come assembled, but CUBE will require assembly after printing, which is why I've included a solved model. The main challenge during the design was adjusting the tolerances (between 0.1 and 0.2 mm depending on the piece) for a precise fit: smooth but not too loose, as this would complicate assembly.
Keep in mind the print scale, as it can affect these tolerances. However, you can also use the scale to adjust them.As a general tip, it's always better for the pieces to fit slightly tight rather than loose, as you can always use a little sandpaper to fine-tune the fit."
I printed it in PLA, which is the recommended material (and perfect for its use), and I haven't tested it in other materials. Otherwise, it's a fairly simple and relatively quick model to print.
Do you dare to assemble it?
