LANKA Overhaul
Mods for Leedle's cool Lanka stringer blaster.
Thanks for making these files free and remixable.
Changes made (shown in the pictures in green color):
modified the mag retention to use angled Talon mags instead of straight Talons for a more reliable and smoother dart feeding
made the slide retention a bit less agressive for a smoother prime
added a stopper block in the upper area of the mag retention so that the magazine cannot be pushed in too far.
reinforced the side areas of the slide
added an additional alternative version of the slide with hybrid T-pull
added a string knot cover for the picatinny rail
made the barrel tighter for more precision
designed new sights for better aiming. The front sight now nicely fills the gap of the rear sight when aiming.
reinforced the muzzle bushing pin
changed the geometry of the dart retention and dart channel (longer dart retention, longer dart stabilization channel, removed the lower V-shaped recess)
The priming and dart feeding is very smooth and reliable with this changes.
The precision ist also very good now. I like it :)
I use a 4mm bungee cord with 100% stretch.
With it, my Lanka reaches up to 93 FPS.I recommend removing the blaster's magazine during storage to prevent the magazine retention clamp from becoming loose.
If the mag retention clamp does become loose, it must be replaced to securely hold the magazines. This is very easy to do: simply remove the rear pin when the top sled is in the rear position and then replace the magazine retention clamp.
The angled Talon magazines are held in the grip by friction. The mag retention doesn't snap onto the magazine, but rather clamps it in place. The angled Talons regardless still stay securely in place, even when shaking the blaster.

Update 23.5.2025
Optimized the mag retention so it has more friction and holds the angled talon magazine better.
(After my mag retention became a bit worn out from having the magazine in the blaster all the time, I've now designed a less flexible mag retention that clamps the magazine even more tightly and hopefully won't wear out. If it's a bit too tight, you can sand the clamp a bit)

I also made an Angled Talon Magazine (remix) that can be printed horizontally without internal supports.
(The pictures show the 8-dart version. There are also 10-dart and 12-dart versions)
The files are already pre-oriented.
My print settings for PLA:
0,2mm layer height
4 walls
20% gyroid (or cubic) infill
7 top and bottom shell layers
Thanks to Bruce LeedleLeedleLeddleLee for the files I could use for this remix.
