Retro Taco Bell Model Set - 1:64 Scale Diorama

A couple of followers requested a retro Taco Bell model set and I absolutely loved that idea. I remember spending so many nights in the Taco Bell parking lot, hanging out with friends after band practice, eating tacos and chalupas with way too much hot sauce in the late hours of the night. It was a regular thing and I have so many great memories. 

One user sent the above photo which is what I used for the main inspiration for my model set. It had all of the classic design features of the retro Taco Bell including the shape of the building, logo signs, and roof with the different textures and colorful accents.

I wanted this model to rival our White Castle model set, so I designed the Taco Bell small enough to print all components on the A1 Mini! 

• The textured roof piece takes the longest to build. It uses tree supports on the inside. The roof is assembled onto the outer roof component and held in place at the four corners of the roof. 

• The outer roof has the colorful accent strips. These strips are printed super thin to keep the material down since it is a multi-color print. I actually just used a glue stick to stick the strips onto the outer roof and so far they have held up. You could of course use super glue or something similar to stick them on.

• The doors and windows are super glued in. The logo signs on the building and road sign are super glued in. The road sign halves are hot glued together.

• The building body sits on the base, and the roof parts sit on the building body. I did not glue any of these parts together so that I can take the model apart as needed. 

• I created an assembly guide to put the model together. 

• I also included the drive-thru menu signs so you can print and cut them out and glue them to the printed drive-thru sign.

• Models sliced in Bambu Studio and printed on Bambu Lab printers
