Description

Simple Rummikub tiles you can print yourself! Even without a MMU!

Any friends which color vision deficiency? Take a picture of all your filament colors and let them choose 4 colors they can distinguish! Now you can all play together :D

Dimensions of the tiles (w, l, h): 20 mm x 30 mm x 2 mm.

How does it work with a single extruder/without a MMU?

It first prints the color of the numbers, then pauses for a color change, afterwards insert the color for the tile and resume printing!

It utilizes a trick in PrusaSlicer, by specifying multiple extruders, but replacing the tool change GCode with that of a color change (M600). If you are familiar with the changing colors based on layer height, this should be familiar to you.

Note: when slicing, PrusaSlicer adds an initial tool change at the start of the print. If you add some comments around the command, it is easy to spot and remove it manually (already done in the provided gcode files).

Print instructions

There are 2 variations of the model: one suit with and without jokers. For a full game you will need to print 8 suits in 4 different colors. The base game has only 2 jokers (red and black), but you can add as many as you like of course!

If slicing it yourself with the provided 3mf files, check the resulting GCode for initial (unnecessary) tool changes!

General tips:

  • If printing with a lighter color for the tiles, let the tool change run the color 2 or 3 times, or the first tile might get a bit tinted (see the black 4 and 5 tiles)
  • Take the first layer slow! I used 10 mm/s in the provided GCode
  • Make sure your build plate is really clean for better bed adhesion for smaller parts (especially the eyes of the joker).
  • Let the build plate cool down before removing the tiles.

Happy printing and playing!
