Huge thank you, in no order:
- Dan, Chance, Spyder, and Deathtree for the original files + remixes used to make this.
- Jesse, Justus, and Sera for the tuning guidance
- TreePDX and Crungled Carrot for the design feedback
Changes vs regular Minx
- Deathtree's remix of Chance's Remnant pump geometry that constrains the pump tighter to remove print zip and slop
- Chance's trigger + heightened sear for snappier response
- Slightly modified PKI ergo cheekrest geometry
- Ball detent shroud
- 21 mm wide Picatinny pump for better compatibility with pump grips
- Talon and Koda optimized magwells with Chance's remnant geometry
- Receiver with 0°, 1°, and 2° picatinny tilts
- Solid TPU plunger head
- Static ram - Original adjustable ram was made to account for poor print tolerances. In the age of Bambu, this is unneeded. O ring groove diameter should be .278"
- Mid length and extended ergo stocks
- Catch 3 that removes geometry for aluminum plunger guide - The aluminum guide adds extra metal on metal wear + I have not seen a reliability difference with it removed.
- Also added a PTFE version that uses 4mm PTFE tubes to remove play between catch 3 and the body
- Various other cosmetic changes.
Build notes:
- Requires 2 x M3 * 10 hex screws for pump shroud, about 50cm of 4mm OD PTFE tube if using the modified catch 3, and the Lynx 2.1 hardware upgrade if you do not already have it.
- All other parts are included in standard Minx hardware kit
- Requires a very accurate printer. Works fine with standard settings on an A1
- You may need to sand the pump slightly to tune the fit against the tensioner bars. Deathtree made this intentionally tight so you can adjust to your preference
- Long stock should be compatible with the toolless tensioner + extended ergo stock found on Spyder's remix
My personal comp setup
- TPU plunger head + Catch 3 with X ring → Durability + this lets you remove the air brake O ring for a smoother prime
- Static ram with Parker O ring recommendations for dynamic seals for better consistency .258" groove diameter & 0.187" groove depth
- Roboman catch + Brass catch nuts → Durability + slightly snappier response
- Removed the aluminum plunger guide → Not needed with Catch 3 in TPU + reduces the amount of metal on metal wear
- 247 FPS SD3fps - SF X4, 30 cm Vorpal, Nitro+ darts *
- 210 FPS SD4 fps - SF X8, 25cm Vorpal (cut down), Nitro + darts *
*tested with Garmin Xero C1 w/ 50' of downrange clearance at 70°F. YMMV based on dart consistency, temp, chrono, Mercury being in Gatorade, etc.
If you like this, be sure to check out the projects this was remixed from!
