I sugest scaling the model to between 50% and 80% of its original size. The mounting hole will also be scaled down. The default size is 9mm. I suggest glueing the rod in place so the
board does not rotate. Use silicone anti-slip pads on the bottom of the board too.

Multicolour printing will increase print time significantly. You can print in one colour then paint the squares on. The squares are defined with a slot.

I included chess pieces from https://www.printables.com/model/32741-chess-set following the distribution license. Make sure to scale down these pieces too until they fit the MobiChess board. You can sink the pieces in to the floor a small amount to remove the watermark.

The thumbnail is a render as I am currently printing the board. The estimated print time for the whole project is 3 days. (p1s, 3 materials (PLA black, PLA white, support for PLA), 0.2mm layer height, 66% scale)

Attach pieces to the board with Blutack, or multi-use circular adhesive pads. Make sure the pads aren't too sticky. Blutack works best with my testing.

Layout ideas:

There is also a game rule i have created where each turn, instead of moving a piece, you can choose to "teleport" the piece through the board and place it upside-down below the time it was originally on. All pieces can do this except for the king.
