Introduction
After using the Wildstyle for a bit i started wondering: “Wouldn't it be cool (and useful in a HvZ game) strapping one under a blaster?)”.
Then the Skeleton Key was released and i gave it a try building it, and i gave up halfway through (but not before i could add compatibility for my TPU gasket and metric o-rings).
"Why?" you might ask, well, it's because it lacked automatic shell extraction and had a fiddly assembly process, since you have to deal with both nuts and screws.
So i started designing my own version of the concept, enter the Chunkey!
Printing and Hardware
Before starting with the printing check if you have Metric or Imperial O-rings and threaded rods (or which you can more easily procure) and choose the parts accordingly. You can even choose to use my TPU gasket on the Plunger Cap.
All parts come pre-oriented, it can all be printed with 5 perimeters and 15% infill, only exceptions are the Plunger Cap (all three versions), the TPU Gasket (if you choose to print the TPU version of the Plunger Cap), The Plunger Head, the Plunger Rod and the Catch, that need to be printed 5 perimeters and 100% infill.
You can find the hardware Bill of Materials in the “Other Files” section.
Assembly Instructions
Coming soon, for the moment the Step file should be clear enough, it's a very simple blaster
Shell Compatibility
All the normal length shells are compatible with the Chunkey, including the Mega and Mega XL ones with full lenght darts. This obviously excludes the Bottlenose and the rocket shells. The Sniper one instead can be used if short enough, but you'll need to remove the PCAR before inserting it.
