Description

Matchbox Superfast MB1 Dodge Challenger. I had a broken windshield so I made a new one.slight modifications might be needed depending on the resin/printer used. This is a basic windshield, I didn't add the "rear view" or "wipers" to it, they were fairly sketchy anyway on these old castings.

Post-Printing =============

Rinsed in 90% alcohol, then swished in denatured alcohol from the hardware store meant as paint thinner. I don't know what the percentage is but it's clearly a different composition than the drug store rubbing alcohol going by the smell.

Sanded with 2000 grit wet or dry sandpaper in soapy water. Used diamond mini files to remove support nubs, also using soapy water to keep parts wet to minimize dust. Then I dipped it in floor wax (acrylic, Mop & Glo brand but any acrylic floor wax should work), wet sanded again with 2000 grit as above and repeated until happy.

How I Designed This

Designed in Blender using measurements of the original and guessing at the angles. I basically printed, test fit, reworked it, and repeated until happy. Each pane and plane of the piece is a discrete piece of geometry overlapped with the others. It seems to work fine in Chitubox slicer and with the photon that way. Apologies if it doesn't in your slicer. I've included the ultimate blend file used to produce the STL, made with Blender 2.8 oin case you'd like to add the missing bits (rearview and wipers) or use it as a launchpad for a different model, or make any improvements.
