Description
So, finally my mounting system for the Pillory which you can buy here.
What is it good for and why it looks so complicated?
Well, I have 800mm wide door and I cannot fit between them with the Pillory. So I needed something which will hold the Pillory in front the wall. And this is what I invented. Simple as that.
Parts required:
Everything is quite simple printing except the two pipes. I found out it is much more easy to just buy these pipes HUGAD tyč na závěsy, černá, 120-210 cm - IKEA than trying to print some set of connected rods. You will need 28,3mm diameter, and you will need length depending on you door width. Needed length of the pipe is width of the door minus 170mm. So if you have the space between door 800mm as I have, you will need 630mm long pipe. Cutting this pipe is easy and fast, ends dont have to be smoothen or anything. Easy peasy.
Assembling:
Assembly is quite simple - I have tried to explain everything in the pictures, so have a look at them.
If I have to put it in the words, it goes like this:
First put together four "Holder to pipe" assemblies. Then take one pipe and slide two of the assemblies onto it (smooth circular hole on the pipe, remember!). Now put together the “Door distancer” assembly. Then mount it between your door at desired height and tighten with the part which look like you can tighten with it :-).
Second, connect the Pillory itself with mounted “Holder” parts (four of them) to the hanging “Holder to pipe” things. You can select a desired angle now, set teeth against teeth and connect it with the “Pin of holder” teethy pin. Dont secure it yet with another pin, because you will not get the desired position on first try probably. No problem though, you can adjust later.
Third, mount second “Door distancer” with hanging “Holder to pipe” assemblies between your door and connect the holders to the Pillory. Now you probably understand how it should work, so reposition and find correct angles (really this is much simpler actually mounting then trying to describe how to do it.)
Fourth, you are done and ready for some fun. Enjoy!
Possibilities:
As you can see on the pictures, you can mount and set the Pillory in many different height and angles and ways. You (or you sub) can be forced to bend to right angle in the waist, or he can stand straight. And everything between these.
Printing:
I have used PETG, because I use PETG for everything. PLA is a possibility too, I guess, but I wouldnt recommend. You will need some toughness for such mounting system.
Printing itself is simple, no difficulties here. I have used 0,2mm layer thickness, 40% infill (if I recall correctly) and everything holds. For the part with the thread you might consider to print it with the axis positioned horizontally, but it is not necessary.
