What is it?

This is a set of piece organizers made for the board game Axis and Allies Anniversary edition. Axis and Allies is a massive WW2 battle strategy game.  It's a ton of fun to play and has a great box as well as great boxes for the pieces as well. The problem with the piece boxes is that they aren't very well organized. So I made it a mission to design a set of organizers that work really great, fit into the existing boxes, and don't add too much weight to an already pretty hefty game. One of my main focuses was to make the game playing experience better. So there was a lot of thought put into where each piece went and how easy they are to take out and put back in. After many revisions I'm super happy with the way that they turned out. I hope you enjoy them as well.

How does it work

As I mentioned before, the organizer inserts fit into the existing boxes that come with the game. They just add some much needed organization to them for smoother gameplay. Simply remove the old cardboard organizers from the piece boxes and then put the new, printed ones in.

The organizers have embossed images of the pieces that go in each section to make them easier to use. Now you can immediately see where to put a specific piece instead of looking for the right one.

If you need a guide of where all the pieces go because you don't know the piece icons or a slot doesn't have an image you can use the pictures above.

I added a couple extra places to put things in the IPC and dice tray as well as the token tray. These are for if you use any add ons you use for the game.

I added a slot for green tokens. This edition of Axis and Allies doesn't come with green tokens but I find it way easier to play with them. So there is a slot if you want to use them.

Print instructions

There are fully sliced gcodes that you can download if you want.

The models are slightly too big to print on most print beds. But you can easily use the cut feature in Prusaslicer or most other slicers as well to cut it into a couple pieces that are easier to print. If your not sure how to do that here's a link to how to do it in Prusaslicer.

To save filament and weight. I've been printing these models with 5% gyroid infill as well as no bottom layers. It's worked great for me and it helps to not make the boxes too heavy. But it is completely optional.

I've been adding a 3mm brim just to prevent warping.

I would recommend not using a layer height bigger than .2mm.

Use whatever nozzle size works for you.

Happy Printing!
