Description

This is a duplicate of the original upload on Thingiverse, which I also put the finishing touches on today with the Bring Arts version of the model.

Summary

Cloud Strife's second sword, the Hardedge, based on the actual game model. (It's a trace, not a rip)
I tried to get the text right. According to Final Fantasy wiki's, the kanji text translates to "one-sided bisection" for those curious.

How I Designed This

This is another test project for learning Fusion 360, with the intention to be scaled for the Bring Arts Cloud.

I used the Extra Knights Cloud figure with Hardedge as a base example for the text, since a lot of the artwork out there is contradictory, fuzzy or poorly angled. I created models with the kanji on either side, both sides or neither side so print the one that looks best to you.

The game model implies the handle is a little bulbous and curved. If that does not work, the straight handle version should work just fine.

I took a few liberties with the guard to give it that rugged assembled look.

FOR BRING ARTS SCALE

Because it's smaller, and the way Cloud's fists are, I opted to make the straight handle version only. The handle diameter is ~0.1" round and should fit about as well as the Buster Sword.

FOR PLAY ARTS SCALE

My Cloud is mint in box, so I "guessed" the measurements based on what I could tell. The length of the Buster Sword is approximately 8" so the Hardedge is scaled to that. I did this project after the Ultima Weapon project and is scaled to that as well.

Final Thoughts

If you build one, please post a make. I would love to see how they turn out.
