Minecraft Lantern

This Lantern is modeled after the Lantern found in Minecraft, only the ring on top is functional rather than true to the original. 

The body of the lantern consists of three parts bottom, middle and top into which the glass panels are slid in. The whole is then held together by two printed m16 screws that screw into the led coil that is inserted into the middle.

The glass panels should be printed in a semi transparent filament, I used PLA and it works really well in that it obscures the leds inside while letting enough light through.

The led coil has some wings into which a neon led strip can be pressed. I used this one and wound it carefully around the coil as can be seen in the images. A regular led strip should work as well but then the wings might be in the way. If you run into issues let me know and I'll upload a version of the coil without the wings.
