Description
The reversing camera on our van pokes out from the number plate recess just enough so that every time it rains vision is obscured by water drops, and when the sun is high in the sky the camera gets a bit of lens flare.
This is a more complex design than it looks, incorporating a tiny secondary drip “rail” which after a bit of testing was all it took to ensure the drops clear the lens, (when the vehicle is stationary of course), however it's a simple model to print!
For those interested the camera is a 23mm cube, and the hood is a press-fit, designed with 0.2mm tolerance and a couple of small “pads” internally to provide the necessary friction.
I've printed mine in PETG at 0.15 layer height, sprayed it with a quick coat of primer filler then two coats of satin black. No support is necessary, but in view of the rather small footprint, I used a 4mm brim all round.
