Description
Deciding to go for a more dynamic look for the earlier Drill hands for SS86 Devastator, here's a motorized version of it to give it some spinning goodness!
This kit will require a DC motor with gear attached for each of the drill hands, along with wires and a power source for it. The motor we had on hand was similar to the one here (https://amzn.to/48Df0NL), and had to be disassembled out of its housing.
A modified drill is hollowed out, with a circular notch for the top gear to be attached into.
With everything set up, in place and powered up, Devastator is ready to rain havoc on the bots!
Here's a look at it in action: https://youtube.com/shorts/Z-6znnX230Y !
=== Assembly ===
For assembly of the motor mount, you can go ahead and connect and solder everything up first. We've designed the mount to have slits where you can slide the wires right in easily, because we too often forget that we need to pass the wires through before soldering :P
Once the wires have been positioned one on each side, the motor can be slid into its mount with the wire contacts facing the side with the wire holes.
With the motor snuggly in place, it should be rigid enough to stay put whilst spinning the drill head.
In our setup, we've used 3 X 1.5V batteries to power each drill as that seemed to work fine, but you're able to also experiment with different setups and potentiometers to get the right speed you desire.

Hope this would be a fun little kit to build and put together for Devastator! Happy 3d printing and electronics tinkering! =)
