Description
With the toy collection growing and displaying of it being a constant thing, here's some foldable display risers which might come in handy!
One of the key bugbears about typical risers are how they take up so much space when not in use and are pretty much un-stackable. So we wanted to have this version which can be stowed away neatly when not in use or when you're re-organizing things.
When setup and put in place, these should be strong and rigid enough to hold up most bots, thanks to the hinge and brace design which prevents the side legs from either flailing outwards or collapsing inwards.
So as much risers do, you can prop up the back row of your bots in your display making them less obscured by any other bots positioned in front of them!
As some added utility, we've also plonked a couple of 5mm ports on the sides for accessory storage!
The risers are also sized to be the same width as our CyberBase System tiles so they will fit right in if you have those as part of your display system too!
=== Deploying the Riser ===
To keep the brace pieces safely stowed, they are pegged into the bottom of the side pieces when folded together, so they shouldn't be able to pop off and go missing.
Just fold out the side legs, pop off the brace pieces and position them into the inner corner of the underside of the riser.
And you're all set! You might be able to get away from using just two of these braces (one on each side) or go with using all four for additional strength.
=== Assembly ===
Putting this kit together is pretty straightforward - simply use a pair of 1.75mm filament segments cut to length to connect 2 "Side" pieces to a "Top" piece in a hinged fashion. The "Brace" parts are pegged in separately.
===
Hope this would be a handy display option for everyone, especially if you are taking some time to re-organize the collection this end of year season! Happy 3d printing! =)
