Kataan Probe – Star Trek: The Next Generation

This is a detailed, multi-part replica of the Kataan Probe from Star Trek: The Next Generation, inspired by one of the most emotionally powerful episodes in the entire franchise.

The model is designed as a display piece, capturing the angular base, tapered pedestal, central body, and iconic wing assemblies. It’s a complex print, but very achievable with careful setup—and the end result is absolutely worth it.

What’s Included

• Designed for clean assembly and accurate proportions

Printing Notes

• Supports required for some components

  • Wings benefit from supports under overhangs

  • Central body may need light internal or external supports depending on orientation

• Print parts separately for best results

• PLA or PETG both work well for display

• Slower print speeds recommended to preserve surface detail

Assembly

• Dry-fit all parts before final assembly

• CA glue or epoxy recommended for permanent bonding

• Wings should be aligned carefully for symmetry

• No hardware required

Scale & Display

• Designed as a display model, not a toy

• Scales well if you want a larger “museum piece” version

• Looks great in neutral or dark sci-fi tones, or with subtle metallic accents
