Description
Chess board with raised letter/numbers around the perimeter. The board is printed in 4 quadrants with a splice plate that overlaps the inner four corners. The perimeter also has rectangular channel for the connectors to snap into, 4 are required for the complete board. The square tiles can be printed in any of your two favorite colors and you will need 64 total, 32 of each color. I provided the sliced file with 16 printed at once and I liked the look of them being printer on a textured sheet instead of a smooth sheet.
Initial when printing this on my Prusa Core One I found out that the splice plate would only fit with the board corner that was printed in the same orientation. Even though the splice plate is symmetrical if you rotated it 90 degree and try and snap it on the board corner it would cause the piece to warp up and it wouldn't sit flat. Initially I thought there was a design issue with the spacing but after double checking the design, it turned out my printer was NOT printing square because the gantry was off on one side by about 3 - 4mm when the right side would hit the homing stop. Once I squared up the gantry and reprinted the pieces everything work out fine.
I really like the chess pieces by Jacob G, they are the perfect size for this chess board.
