Description

For best results I printed it in ABS plastic, pointed up lengthwise, and tilted 22.5 degrees. However, your mileage may vary depending on your printer/plastic.
Please note that his piece was only tested in a Hasbro G1 Jetfire figure and a bootleg Happy Well Xbot Jet robot figure. I have no idea if it really works in a Takatoku Macross Valkyrie or any of the reissues by Matsuhiro or Bandai.

So this is a little different from my previous creations. I have always loved the Takatoku Macross Valkyrie toy, though I never had a chance to get a real one until recently. I won a G1 Jetfire on Ebay that was missing a bunch of parts but luckily I had a Happy Well Xbot bootleg that I could harvest parts from. However, during the disassembly process of the Xbot the Xbot's switch that unleashes the front landing gear snapped and none of my super glues seemed to be able to get it to withstand the tension of the spring it holds down. So, as an exercise in a new software I've been trying to learn called Cadoodle I wanted to use the G1 Jetfire's lever as a reference and create my own replacement. My printer isn't the best at printing complex small pieces, so I had to sand a little bit here and there and had a couple instances of the piece snapping inside the figure, but I got it to work eventually. I don't expect it to last as long as an genuine original piece but at the very least I can make as many replacement as I need.

Hope this helps!
