Description
I couldn’t find a Starmie fidget spinner design that I really liked - most versions had alignment issues because the bearings weren’t properly captured, causing the stars to shift. This design solves that by using split star halves and dedicated spacers to securely capture and align the bearings.
The “Complete” file is already oriented for printing. No external supports are required. All necessary supports are integrated into the model. After printing, only a small amount of cleanup is needed on the top diamond.
This design has been tested with both standard metal 608 bearings and 3D-printed 608 bearings. I personally preferred the feel of the printed bearings, specifically this version.
Each star half includes alignment holes that allow you to insert short pieces of filament to help line everything up during glue-up. Spacer order is important:
Medium spacer on the bottom
Largest spacer in the middle
Shortest spacer on the top
